Method lies at the basis of every result.

I really love these words and I haven’t copied them from a book but simply from my experience and then I catapulted them into my everyday life.

If you think about it, everything that is productive has a method, even flair, considered an impulse free from any condition, is accompanied by a rational part.

A Coach that has good intuition but does not know how to integrate it into a real context is of no use to his pupils.  His ideas will remain unattainable, just like the echo of something that slowly dissolves.

If, however, we create ideas and discipline, a development can begin.

This is the method, to transform the ephemeral into something concrete, therefore able to convey and transmit it efficiently.

When I prepare my programmes I always start with the Technical aspect.

I believe that this is the vital element through which all aspects are optimised.  An important element that should not be forgotten and to which it is always best to dedicate time.

Even when things seem to develop in the right way, especially with youngsters, through good levels of performance and results, a deficiency in terms of the biomechanics of the shot, a curve in performance may occur as well as the emergence of possible muscular or tendon problems connected with overloading due to incorrect movements.

My initial analysis includes an accurate study of the athlete’s shots.

I highlight the basic aspects, hypothesizing their long-term development, dividing them up into qualities and critical factors.

The first means that I use is a vision of a natural, competent and influential nature.  Only at a later stage, with the objective of creating greater perception in the student of the road that he must follow and where he needs to improve, do I take advantage of the technological means through the use of video analysis.

On this level of information acquisition I can create a plan that makes these aspects available in the field of a tactical-strategic construction.

I implement this procedure by selecting exercise categories, to be inserted with the right percentages into the training week.

I never deal with programming starting with the types of shots but always with the types of exercises.

Then, within this layout I insert various shots according to the methods studied for each athlete and field of training.

This is how I work because, as far as I am concerned, the application of the technique is strictly correlated with the optimisation of aspects of a coordinative and conditional nature, that in turn give rise to a more orderly management of the tactical-strategic aspects and mental consequence.

In this way the athlete develops his shots (serve, forehand, backhand, volée and smash), still connected with a broader and well defined procedure.

This system that I have experimented, represents the process that I use for learning and, subsequently, to achieve the highest possible levels of performance.
